Digital Native is people born after 1980. They live around technology. They use digital devices like internet, smartphone to learn thing, to go shopping, to contact with other people. They do anything with digital device.
A digital immigrant is an individual who was born before the widespread adoption of digital technology. The term digital immigrant may also apply to individuals who were born after the spread of digital technology and who were not exposed to it at an early age. Digital immigrants are the opposite of digital natives, who have been interacting with technology from childhood.
Digital immigrants are believed to be less quick to pick up new technologies than digital natives. This results in the equivalent of a speaking accent when it comes to the way in which they learn and adopt technology. A commonly used example is that a digital immigrant may prefer to print out a document to edit it by hand rather than doing onscreen editing.

Digital Natives always rely on the digital materials, you may see that they can't live without wi-fi. When they went home, they will only open their computer, use their smartphones. And getting lazier and lazier.
Beside that, digital immigrants always think that the generation today know everything, they thought we can search all of the information on internet. For example, my mom will ask me how was the discount of the shopping mall today? but actually we dunno and confuse to search it.
So, that is the disadvantage of both generation.
Digital immigrate people born before the advent of digital technology, perspective history and potential
Digital Natives: The generation Z and Y, and part of generation X. This means that it is somewhat the years of 1980s to the present day. These generation of people, have had personal technology in almost all aspects of their lives and by generation Z is an available global thing that is essential to this point in time. Generation X being the late on, since they were the one to first see the fruits of the interested and the personal computer but it wasn’t available for everybody, popular or as easy to use as today, but they develop with it. Generation Y being in the middle of the specter had the introduction to the internet and personal technology in times like middle school for the most part, making them also part of this community but having it more easy and available, especially with the introduction of it in schools. And as time goes by at this point jobs, education, entertainment and finances pretty much everything can be done with the internet and computers. Facing different problems in the new digital age, changing their world like this.
Digital Immigrants: Generation X, Silent Generation… meaning those born before the 1980s are the immigrants to this new digital age, coming from a completely different age of technology where computers could have being as big as whole room and telecommunication was at its peak, and new things were being develop and discover, in many ways they are the predecessors and inspiration to the inventors of the digital age creating the bases for this new age of technology to come to fruition. Technology gab is so big their understanding of it was so little that the Y2K got the whole use in panic, and in the media like movies we see movies like the terminator showing an age of technology where the public with its lack of understanding of the technology around them, made movies like The Terminator a hit in the movies, because it is understandable that that which we don’t know scare us and for many people that is how they saw technology. The general public were in a time of technological transition especially those in the business world that needed to keep real time stock information, call each other while traveling long distance, but those at home had not much contact with it specially with it was a lower middle class family due to how expensive and inconvenient they were. But know that they are around 40 to 87+ they are at a time where for some of them having a cellphone is as foreign.
We may never become true digital natives, but we can and must begin to assimilate to their culture and way of thinking.- Rupert Murdoch
From the natives, the immigrants can learn to be more open and willing to engage with learners of differing backgrounds. There is less reliance on an institutional structure in the open meritocracy the native lives in. Immigrants can learn from the natives how to sift through and focus the resources, which are aplenty and be not as overwhelming for the native. They can learn to scale the learning and build what is possible.
